...In times of public health crises, governments have a fundamental duty and a legal obligation to be transparent about their choices and decisions, and to protect people’s lives. This means ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to accurate global information about the disease, informing and educating the public about the pandemic, and ensuring that health data is accessible to everyone – no exceptions. There simply is no rationale that can support the choices that left – and continue to leave – millions of people without essential life-saving information."
